What’s taking place?
Hello, and thank you for your interest in our work.
The woodland has been acquired to protect it as a natural habitat, to halt its use for commercial timber harvesting, and to safeguard it from future housing development.
Our aim is to restore the woodland’s health through careful, long-term management. This includes caring for the existing trees, reintroducing native species where appropriate, and enhancing habitates for wildlife.
It is our long-term aspiration that this woodland will become a place that the public can enjoy and explore, but there is a lot of work for us to complete first. In the meantime, we would be very grateful for your support by respecting that it is private land and to not enter the site. This will help us protect the success of the restoration work that is now under way.

Can I join in?
At present we are not in a position to accept community volunteer help, but as soon as we are able to we will be delighted to work with anyone who wants to help. Thank you.
Will trees be cut down?
There won’t be wholesale cutting down of trees, but some trees will be removed in line with good forestry management, eg trees with diseases, or trees that are dangerous. We make use of an external forestry consultancy to ensure we are make responsible decisions.
Has planning permission been obtained?
No work is taking place for which planning permission is required. If it becomes necessary then we will apply for planning permission following the proper channels. The work we are undertaking is either naturally required (and allowed) for forestry maintenance, or is ‘permitted development’ for which we have notifed and liaised with the local authority.
